Privacy policy

The short version

• Your shifts, pay, classes and tasks belong to your account, and only you can read them.
• We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising trackers.
• If you connect Google Calendar, we only ever read it. We never add, change or delete your events.
• You can ask us to delete your account and everything in it at any time.

Who we are

CampusWage is an app for students who work while they study, built in Canada. In this policy, "we" means the team that runs CampusWage and campuswage.com. You can reach us at hello@campuswage.com.

What we collect

Your account

Your email address, and your name if you give one or sign in with Google. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture.

What you put in the app

Jobs and pay rates, shifts, tips and other pay entries, pay cheques, terms, courses, classes, tasks and grades, and your settings. Some settings describe you, such as whether you study on a permit, your tuition amount for the tax estimate, and your province for payroll deductions. You choose what to enter.

Google Calendar, if you connect it

With your permission we read events from the calendars you choose, so shifts and classes can be imported. We ask Google only for read-only calendar access (calendar.readonly), plus your name, email address and profile picture to show which Google account is connected. The events we import become shifts, classes or tasks in your account; we do not keep a copy of your other events. The Google access token stays in your browser.

We use Google user data only to show your schedule and pay inside CampusWage. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models, and nobody reads it unless you ask us for help. CampusWage's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The contact form

When you write to us through the form on this site, we keep your name, email address, what you picked in the form, and your message, so we can reply and let you know when accounts open. It is stored in the same database, readable only by us. Ask and we will delete it.

What we do not collect

We do not track you across other websites, use advertising cookies, or collect your location.

How we use it

• To run the app: show your schedule, work out your pay and deductions, and sync your data between your devices.
• To run your account: sign-in, password resets, and the plan you are on.
• To reply when you contact us.

We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Where it is stored and who processes it

We use a small number of service providers to run CampusWage. Each one processes data only to provide its service to us:

• Supabase stores your account and app data in a database, and handles sign-in.
• Cloudflare hosts the website and the app.
• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google or connect Google Calendar.
• Anthropic, only if you use the cloud assistant once it is available, and only after you agree to it for that request. Your message and a short summary of your coming weeks are sent to answer it and are not kept.

Some providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.

Who can see your data

Only you, through the app. Every record in the database is tied to your account, and the database refuses to return one person's records to any other account, including our admin accounts, which can see only account details such as your email address and plan. The people who operate the database can technically reach the stored data; we do so only when you ask us for help or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete an item in the app, it is removed from your view straight away and kept in a deleted state for up to 90 days, so your other devices learn it was deleted, and is then removed for good. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and its data.

Your choices and rights

• Access and export: download a backup of everything from Settings at any time.
• Correct: edit anything in the app.
• Delete: delete items in the app, or email us to delete your account.
• Disconnect Google: disconnect Calendar in the app, and remove CampusWage's access from your Google account settings.

Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

Connections are encrypted with HTTPS. Access to data is controlled by the database itself, per account. No system is perfectly secure, but we design CampusWage so that a mistake in one place does not expose your data to other users.

Children

CampusWage is meant for students who work, and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we will tell you in the app or by email.
